Privacy policy

This English text is provided for convenience. The French version is the official version and prevails in case of any difference.

This policy explains what personal information EGI CANADA collects, why, who it is shared with and how to exercise your rights. It takes into account Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25) and, for European visitors, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Person in charge

School of Management and Innovation Canada Inc. (École de gestion et d’innovation Canada inc.), 6465, rue Sherbrooke Est, bureau 602, Montréal (Québec) H1N 3N6, Canada, Quebec enterprise number (NEQ) 1180378490 is responsible for processing your information. The person in charge of the protection of personal information is Mohamed Amine Sbia, gestionnaire. For any question: info@egi-canada.ca.

2. Information collected

  • When you enrol: last name, first name, email address, billing country and, for an invoice in an employer’s name, the company’s name and address.
  • During the program: logins, modules taken, quiz results and certificates earned.
  • When you contact us: the information you include in your message.
  • Automatically: technical data such as IP address, browser type and pages viewed.
  • Payment: your card details are entered directly with the payment provider. EGI CANADA neither receives nor stores them.

3. Use

  • process your order, open your access and issue invoices;
  • track your progress and issue your certificates;
  • answer your questions;
  • tell you about new programs, only if you have agreed to it;
  • meet our accounting and tax obligations;
  • keep the site secure and improve it.

4. Sharing with third parties

Your information is never sold or rented. It is shared only with the service providers needed to run the service, and only to the extent they need it:

  • our hosting provider, WHC (Web Hosting Canada), whc.ca, which hosts the site and the learning platform;
  • our payment provider, Stripe;
  • our email service, for confirmations and, if you have agreed, our news.

Some of these providers may store information outside Quebec. Before any transfer outside Quebec, we check that the information will receive adequate protection.

5. Retention

Account and progress information is kept for your access period, then for 24 months so that we can confirm a certificate. Invoices are kept for the period required by tax law. Contact messages are kept for 24 months. Your address is removed from our mailing list as soon as you unsubscribe.

6. Your rights

You may request access to your information, its correction or its deletion, withdraw your consent to our emails or object to commercial use. Write to info@egi-canada.ca from the address you used to enrol. We reply within 30 days. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link.

If you believe your rights are not being respected, you may contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec or, if you live in the European Union, the data protection authority in your country.

7. Cookies and local storage

The site uses cookies that are necessary for it to work: the login session for the learner portal and the shopping cart. Refusing these cookies prevents access to the learner portal. The site also stores in your browser the currency and the language you choose. If audience measurement or advertising tools are added, they will only be activated with your consent.

8. Security

The site is served over HTTPS, administration is password-protected and backups are made regularly. Since no system is foolproof, we will notify you, as well as the Commission d’accès à l’information, of any confidentiality incident that presents a risk of serious harm.

9. Updates

This policy may change. The date of the last update appears at the top of the page.
